MedSurg Manager for Non Profit Hospital

Med/Surg Manager reports to The Director of Nursing and duties include:

completes human resource functions related to staff recruitment and retention
performance evaluations and competencies, orientation and annual education requirements and employee safety
supports the hospital philosophy and goals
complies with regulatory and licensing agencies
assures that the department and staff present a positive image to the patients, families, and public to maintain a positive reputation in the community
Implements services to meet patient and physician expectations.
controls and monitors financial expenditures to meet budget goals
actively participates with hospital wide initiative such as the Performance Improvement (PI) Program
Responsible for the patient population and assigned nursing and ancillary staff
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the activities that take place on their assigned unit
Provides direction, support, and guidance to nurses and other staff.
